14 Nov CBD Thanksgiving Dinner for your Pet
When Thanksgiving dinner is cooking, it makes everyone in the house hungry – even your pets. They’ll probably drive you nuts being under your feet every time you go into the kitchen to check on something. They don’t want to be left out. You can prepare them their very own CBD Thanksgiving dinner without having to take a bunch of extra steps.
It only takes a few minutes extra to prepare a special CBD Thanksgiving Dinner for your pet and we’re going to tell you how.
Turkey for your Pet
Your pet is really going to want a piece of turkey on their little CBD Thanksgiving dinner plate. If you use herbs on your turkey or use an herbed butter, you’ll want to select a piece for them that is near the bone. Your pet can have herbs, but too much might overwhelm their palate or might turn them off to the meat. Pets can’t have things like onion powder, onion, dried minced onion or large amounts of garlic. A hint of garlic is okay. Make sure your pet isn’t getting too much salt either.
You pet only needs a couple of ounces of turkey since they’ll likely have some vegetable side dishes too.
Veggies for your Pet
When you’re making up your pet’s CBD Thanksgiving dinner plate, don’t forget the veggies. You’ll probably have green bean casserole – leave a few raw green beans on your cutting board for your pet. Green bean casserole requires the use of onion products.
You might think that dogs can’t have mushrooms. They can have some mushrooms. View this available list of the mushrooms you should avoid feeding your dog.
Sweet potatoes, regular potatoes and carrots are also great for your dogs. Just be mindful of what you’re cooking them in. Olive oil, in small amounts, is okay for your dog. Try to avoid butter and other oils as those can cause digestive upset. Also, lay off the salt and black pepper. Too much salt isn’t good for your pet and black pepper might cause indigestion.
Bring on the Dessert
IF you’re having pumpkin pie, your pet is going to want pumpkin pie. The good news is – pumpkin is great for your pets. You should, however, watch the portion. Too much might cause diarrhea or even constipation. There is a balance to maintain here since pumpkin is one thing that your vet might suggest to give your pet if it has diarrhea, but again – it’s only a small amount.
Try this simple baked CBD pumpkin dessert for your pets (this will make 5 – 6 servings depending on your pet’s size)
1 cup pumpkin
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 Tablespoons evaporated milk (unsweetened)
Combine all of the ingredients and bake in a small baking dish (if you have an oven-safe coffee mug that will work just fine). Bake at 325 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes. Check the center with a toothpick to see if it’s cooked through. If not, give it a few more minutes.
As you can see, making your pet a CBD Thanksgiving dinner is no fuss at all. You can even add their dose to a little bit of smashed sweet potato instead of dessert. Of course he or she will likely still beg for more, but it’s a good idea to feed them in a different room and make sure that guests know not to feed them from the table. Try to avoid giving your pet bread – while it’s not bad for them, it’s an unnecessary filler that can be avoided. Give them the healthy things first – meat, veggies and that pumpkin dessert.
